My (Ever Growing) Camera Collection 2016

“A camera teaches you how to see without a camera.” – Dorothea Lange

I had to make this my 1st post in the Photo Friday series. Had to.

**FYI** I am going to be talking about each individual camera, there will probably be individual tangents (I’ll try to limit – though we all know how that’ll go). I will not be offended if you skim and juts look at the pretty pictures, go ahead, but for those fellow photographers or curios minds I will try to give as much info as possible on each camera, plus a bit of a story to how I got it, etc.**

Photo Friday Series

I thought about starting this series back when I started this blog. Since I was in Fort Hayes at the time I would have had tons of content. That would have been school stuff and not just me having fun, but it would have been kind of cool to see more of my progression. (I think this is my shortest intro – HA) Click Here to Read More

Senior Show

Can I get a drum roll please….

So at Fort Hayes we, the senior class, get to put our work in the gallery for the senior art show!

I was totally geeked when we found out. I can’t really remember if Mr. Kocks told us we would be doing this last year or even early this year. But anyway we kind of got the info late, before spring break, and we were to have our pictures printed, framed and wired 2 days after we got back.

The schedule has kind of gone sideways but on Tuesday we got to put our work in the gallery officially and figure out what wall we wanted them to be put on. The pieces probably won’t be where we picked though by the end of the week, the curator will probably change everything (lol).

We only got to put in 5 pieces, originally 6.

It took a while to decide what I wanted to put in, we haven’t done too many current projects and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to include any of my book pages (6 word short stories). I eventually choose 4, three of the studio pics of my friend Ty and one current photo. (I’ll post them all later, well the current one because the ones of Ty are already up)

The show is set to be put on from May 3-21. I’ll update if there is a change.

There were finally clear sky’s in Ohio, thank goodness!

Stay safe out there.

…a photographer’s best friend or sidekick. (We don’t have Lightroom at my school)

Since I’ve been in the photography program at FH (as you all know), I like to consider myself pretty good at Photoshop. I like to mess around with different things, whether it be a photo I’m editing or me just goofing around with a random picture (like the ones below). Click Here to Read & see Photos

Photo Shoot 2.0

Just like I promised here’s the photos from my Bria – 2 light pushed portraits shoot.

Yay actual pictures!!!!

Let me know what you think. This was a fun shoot. I just let Bria be herself. And we even used my konstruktor camera as a prop.

Hope everybody is doing okay.

A ton of snow is supposed to be coming our way! (I’m not happy)

Stay safe out there.

“A camera is a save button for the minds eyes.”

This is technically a late post (sorry).

Anyway in photo were finishing up working on two light pushed portraits. But this time instead of taking pictures of each other we got to steal an artist from across the hall in the Art Portfolio class.

I picked to work with Bria. She’s an awesome artist and rides my bus to get to Fort Hayes. And occasionally gives me honey buns (yum). Click Here to Read More

“Insecurity is what’s ugly. Not you.”

“Be your own kind of beautiful.”

Today’s topic: Getting your picture taken!

Personally I hate getting my picture taken.

Not that I haven’t a ton of times over the years, my mom loves taking my picture (yes you do mom). I don’t really know why, I just never really have. I’ve pretty much gotten over it, well mostly anyway.

“Lets get out of our comfort zones.”

I would like to blame it on the photographer in me but that would be a lie. Especially since my friends and fellow FH photographers, Val and Jasmine do self portraits all the time.

So whenever we do partner projects I try to be positive and not look mean (like everybody says). When Ty and I did our pushed portraits project I thought I did a pretty good job of not being completely annoyed the entire time (:-p). Click Here to Read More & see Photos
